A Cool Blog
Something nice about blogging is that it can serve as a student portfolio so that all student work becomes digital and is neatly stored in one place. I like the way Mrs. Alaniz created a blog where she uploaded student work samples right onto the page. She also included some personal photos into her blog as well as photos from what is going on in her classroom. It's nice to look through someone's blog and see concrete images to reflect what they are talking about with regard to what they're doing in their classrooms. I love that student work can be added right in as examples. Check out her blog here!

That is an interesting way to use blogging. I don't think I've actually seen that before. My school purchased "Google Apps for Education" so that every student has a Google Drive account and can share documents with teachers and vice versa. This has become our "digital portfolio" where students can hand in their work online. Teachers can even see when it was finished, and it has taken cheating down a notch as well. (Students have tried to copy & paste, but the teacher can see that the document went from empty to full in 2 minutes...hmm....)
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
Everything is going down the online path...it's great as long as there are no technological glitches! I say that because of all the computer problems we have been facing at school getting ready for the CMT's...it would be awful if a teacher needed to pull up portfolios and her computer crashed!
